Mints

How are your mints made?
The gourmet mints are hand-pressed on a WWII era tabulating machine, and made with only the finest ingredients. Check out our different mint flavors.

What’s up with your tins?
The tins are made of brushed metal, and designed with a timeless minimalist aesthetic reminiscent of 1920s cigarette cases. Once the mints are consumed, the tins can hold credit cards and small amounts of cash, giving them a long and useful lifetime. You can take a closer look at our tins here.

Are your mints sugar-free?
YES. Right now, we have a total of six flavors. Five of those flavors are sugar-free, including: Mojito Mint, Classical Peppermint, Sugar Free Tibet, Spare Mint, and Seven Deadly Cinnamon. Only the Night Light Caffeinated Chai mints contain sugar.

Are your mints Atkins diet friendly?
YES. Five of the six flavors are sugar-free, and therefore very low carb. These are the perfect mints for the dieter.

Are your mints Kosher?
Not yet. Although they have the potential to be as all of the ingredients are Kosher. We expect to be certified Kosher in the next three months. Sign up to our Blackbook for updates on the Kosher certification.

What is Sorbitol?
A French chemist first discovered sorbitol in the berries of the mountain ash in 1872. It still occurs naturally in a wide variety of fruits and berries. Sorbitol has a smooth mouthfeel with a sweet, cool and pleasant taste, perfect for our mints. Sorbitol is also resistant to metabolism by oral bacteria which break down sugars and starches to release acids that may lead to cavities or erode tooth enamel. They are, therefore, non-cariogenic and approved by the American Dental Association. If you're interested, you can read more about sorbitol.

I have Diabetes. Can I eat these?
Yes. Sorbitol is slowly absorbed and therefore safe for diabetics. When sorbitol is used, the rise in blood glucose and the insulin response associated with the ingestion of glucose is significantly reduced. Sorbitol assists the three main goals of diabetes management: Control of blood glucose, lipids, and weight.

Questions About the Website

What is the gallery section on this website all about?
Being young experimenters ourselves, we are well aware of how hard it is to get some recognition in this day and age. Our virtual gallery is our way to help shed some light on up and coming artists. In this section, we will be featuring all types of art, be it photography, painting, sculpture, music, interactive multimedia, video, performance art. Anything. Bring it on.

I’m an artist and I’m interested in being featured in your gallery, what do I do?
Email your art to:

If you can’t email the actual file, contact us to set up an alternate delivery method.

What’s up with the weather on the site?
When you load the Oral Fixation website, it automatically retrieves the current weather and time-of-day at the real world Chocolate Factory, and transforms the scene accordingly. You can also manually select the weather and time to create the scene you would prefer to see, which comes in especially handy during the dreary winter months. To change the weather on the site, click the "PAINT THE SKY" link in the lower left-hand corner of the scene.

Questions About Oral Fixation

What is the logo all about?
It’s whatever you want it to be. We’ve already heard around 30 different interpretations. Keep guessing. And keep it clean!

How long has "Oral Fixation" been around?
The mints have been available since December 2003.

What is the Chocolate Factory?
Oral Fixation is based out of a renovated Chocolate Factory in Hopewell, New Jersey. Built in the late nineteenth century, the factory produced the legendary "Hopewell Dainties" for over 100 years until being converted into beautiful living/loft spaces by sculptors from the Johnson Atelier, in the late 1970's. Now the home of Oral Fixation, this building is just as cool as it looks.

Who’s behind all this?
Oral Fixation is led by three recent college grads who, about a year ago, decided to do something a bit different with their lives. If you follow the old maxim, "Don't take candy from strangers," you should read our Story section so we'll no longer be strangers.

Why mints?
It seemed like a good starting place for us. There are dozens of mint companies in the US alone, creating a very competitive market. However, we noticed that both quality and design were lacking in every single mint product. We believed that if we took an everyday product like mints and made it more beautiful, practical and tasty without increasing the price, we would be able to capture people's hearts (as much as a mint is capable of grabbing a heart, that is). Mints are certainly not the end of the line for Oral Fixation. We intend to continue making everyday products more beautiful. . . and we’re going to have a blast along the way!

What else do you guys do?
Right now, we’re doing mints. We have a couple of other product lines in the works. If you would like to be updated on these new products, sign up at Blackbook, and become a member of our online community.

Who is Jack?
Don’t ask silly questions.

Who else do you work with?
We are always interested in forging new alliances. At the moment, we work very closely with Effen Vodka, DJ Cat, House of Groove, and the Bryant Park Hotel in NYC. If you are interested in partnering with us, please call us at 609.466.3297, or email us at:
